Hello everyone. Today I will write about my english classes in the university and my relationship with the english language in general.  

Well, the truth is that for me the English class is a big problem, I find it hard the language and I get very nervous when trying to speak, I hope to finish in december with this nightmare, and I have a relaxed summer. I would sincerely like that this grade did not exist in a mandatory way. Altough I would like to master the language at some point and manage to speak without problem, even next year I will take English classes in an institute, because definitely here in the university I could not learn anything, and I think it will be very useful if I want to live abroad.




I think the teaching method is not bad, but at least in my personal case I have a very bad English base, I never understood in school and when I got here, it happened to me again. The system of blogging is more entertaining, but having classes twice a week is terrible, takes up a lot of time and is until very late, I get tired and frustrated to my house just to sleep. I would like to able to ocuppy all the hours I use going  to English classes to work in my workshop, and learn everything I can about ceramics in this last month of university





Anyway, there are things that we have to do by obligation, I just hope to spend my English course and not delay because of him.

Hi everyone, today I'am going to tell you about all the changes I would make to the plastic arts career, this subject could be extended, because I can think of many changes to make.

Let's start with what en my opinion is less relevant, but in the same way we have to make several changes, with this I mean the infrastructure. The workshops are in very poor condition, they are icy (or extremely hot in summer), there are always leaks and floods and the machines are not safe, thar is what seems to me most urgent, there are many disciplines that need to use tools and machines dangerous, and there are not safety measures.

For me it is essential thar the career is extended, I considerer that it is very short time to reach to learn everything we need to know, both technical and theorical. In addition, over time we are in strike becomes even shorter. I believe that the career of Theory and History of Art and Plastic Art should be united, we have to learn from each other and for this it takes time, because for example, the work in the ceramic workshop to wich I belong takes many hours.

But the big problem if this university are its professors (some clearly) who are many years in their positions or have more of a job and do not gime them the time to dedicate to teaching seriously. Many teachers are here because they have passed over other people, not because of their merits as artist. What displeases me most is the enviroment of competitiveness and envy that is created here.

Hello everyone! In today's blog I will write about my next summer vacation, wich all already close.

Actually my holidays will not be a real vacation, because I will go to work for three months to Caleta Tortel, a small town in the region of Aysén, located in the south of Chile and belonging to the so called "Southern Highway".

The most distinctive of this place is that it has no streets for vehicles, only wooden walkways where pedestrians cross. 

I will work in a small hostal belonging to an older lady named Silvia, so she needs young people to help her.     

My job will be to server the dining tables of the place and keep the dining room organized, which is a very good job, because besides receiving the daily salary that Mrs. Silvia will give me, I will also earn tips from the people I server.

In the first moment went alone, but now also a friend named Barbara to work at the same residential and that makes me very happy, it will be a nice experience with her and it will be good not to be among pure strangers.

I will work from January 14 until the end of March there and my idea is after that I go to travel around  until April 10, that I have my plane ticket to return, the only bad thing is that I will have to go alone because my friend returns first to Santiago. 

I hope it is a good experience, I am anxious!

Well, today I will tell you about one of my favorite photos, wich is a picture of my childhood that I keep with a lot of affection.

The main reason why I chose this photo share is because I go out with my dad and the way I hug him, it shows that there is a strong connection between us.

The photo was taken by my mom many years ago, I must have been four years old approximately and we were in a lake, Lake Lanalhue, on the boat of some friends of my parents, where we went most of the summer vacations, since ther have a house in that place and they always invited us.

I have very goos memories of those summers on the lake, because there were children my age with whom to have fun and do antics, and also spent a lot of tim swimming whit my dad, who taught me how to swim.

All the photos of childhood are very special for me, it's like being seeing someone other than us, a stranger and throught the photographs we connect with our past self. I love old photos!

Hello everyone!

Well, today again I have to write about something complicated, te future, 220 word on totally imaginary facts. Specifically about my postgraduate studies, studies that will complement my undergraduate studie.


Honestly I have not thought to do a postgraduate course itself. What I have in mind after this year hopefully finish the career of Plastic Arts (if I can pass my course of english) is studying pedagogy Arts, it right here at Juan Gómez Milla campus of University of Chile.
Pedagogy has a short duration, only a year and a half and is mostly practice in classrooms; with this I hope to learn to pass my knowledge, it is very important to me.


I am totally convinced that we never stop learning, especially if we are talking about a craft and that's what I really want to continue studying, improving my knowledge of pottery and textile art, wich by being ancestral knowledge are truly infinite.
Perfecting my technique and learning from other teachers.


In the near future I want to go to study in Argentina, a ceramist school, I was very excited to go live in another country and interact with other cultures. And I hope to do the same in different countries, exchange knowledge bringing me to work in other workshops. And have a workshop here where people who know too can come to learn.

Hello Everyone!!

Today I will tell you about my future job... as if I could see the future.

Well, I would like to work in many different along my life and around the world therefore, ideally not work for anybody, be independent, with my own schedules and rules. Well, I hope that everything be as simple and nice as it is to write.

My first plan in the future is teach what I know, pass on my knowledge, I would do workshops for children, teaching through art, I love to travel doing that and likewise go to learn new textiles and pottery techniques on different countries, especially in Latin America and Mexico.

Moreover, in a minute I want to install a shop, a coffe, home workshop, a place to meet, teach the techniques to perform them. A community work, but without a boss.

Well, we do not know what the future holds, and we are always time to create new plans and dreams, so whatever comes will be well received.

My idea is to do something I love above all enjoy what you do and don't fell like a job, and see the world while I work.

Hello everyone!!

Well, today I will write about one of my favorite songs lately, the song is called "Palomas y Plazas" and was written and interpreted by Uruguayan musician, Gustavo Pena "El Príncipe".
Just last year I met this man thanks to a good friend who showed me, and who always played with his guitar in the morning, it was a great was to start the day.

The song belong to a compilation of song made between the year 1979/80, but were published many years later, since Gustavo Pena became know when he was old, he died poor, but always did what was good for him, what satisfied.

He says something that makes much sense to me, that music must be done for oneself, without thinking the audience that will listen, the passion of the artist sits listening.

I love this song, although being a simple lyric is mysterious, it has a soft and melancholy melody, causes me a lot of emotions and I have good memories. I relax and enjoy listening to this song and others of "Archivo 1".

I recommend you listen to their album, and see their interviews, because he had a big mind, is a very sensitive and great person.  

Hello everyone, today I will write about my favorite artist, Vincent Van Gogh, It is a Duch painter, who was born in 1853, and one of the leading exponents of post-impressionism. I like the way he paints seen from an aesthetic point, primarily the work of his last years, the most expressionist.

 I find great the way he uses colors, always very vibrant colors, particularly unrealistic perspectives and their line, wich makes it unique and recognizable by anyone, generally I chose because I like his way of seeing and representing the world around him, apparently had the simple need to represent all through painting or drawing.

He painted very banal scenes to beautiful scenary, as the famous work "Starry night". Despite having know many artists in the university, I still find great until today and I chose as my favorite, because it reminds me of my childhood.
I don't understand why it was never recognized his talent, but I'm glad that today we can appreciate.

Hello!!! today I will write one a day I will never forget. On october 17th,  the day I went to the concert of Damien Rice, he is an Irish 43- year- old and his music is Indie rock style or something like.
I love his work, so that day is very exciting and fresh for me. He is a person who makes music that satisfies himself, doesn't do music for sale to the public, but still people we feel identified with their lyrics.

The concert was in the theater of the university of Chile, which has space for a thousand people, so it was very intimate concert and I was very close to the stage, and on the stage was he alone with his guitar, a clarinet and a drum.
It shows that he feels very passionet about what he does and the people who attended listened intently. In a somewhat ritual atmosphere. Best of all was that that after concert came to play on the street, where we had a group of people waiting, and we were lucky to be with a former classmate,it was exciting.
Definitely this will be a day that will remain in my memory forever, it was perfect I am waiting for your next visit to Chile or I visit Ireland!

Hi all!!! Well today I will write about a country I'd like to visit. It is a difficult assignment, but I have the choose one.
A country which I like to visit soon is Spain, I would like to live there, I think Europe is a perfect destiny, the places are beautiful and the culture is very rich. I Would like to study on active teaching methods, while working in something to keep me a live. I hope to live there after finishing my studies in education here in Chile.
Another country that I would also like to vitit and live there. is México, I am delighted with mexican culture and specially its craftsmanship and techniques both ceramics and textiles; Learn these manual techniques is something that interests me a lot, because they are ancestral techniques and also very beautiful and interestingm very complex and impressive.
I hope comply my dreams soon, and travel around the world!

Hello everyone!

Well, today I will talk about two things; my favorite movie, and the movie to more hatred, actually I am not fond of watch movies, so I will start the movie most hate, and this is "Piranha 3D", this film we saw an evening with my friends when we did not know what to watch on TV, and saw complete.. is the most bad movie I remember seeing so far and I don´t understand how they could spend money on production, I do not remeber the plot of the film, but, what happened was that the piranhas mainly lilled everything in its path, but definitely the worst of all were the special effects. Luckily I have not found again on TV.
 

Now I will talk about my favorite movie that I remember, and not to choose "The lion king" xD will pick "Mr. Nobody", this is a Belgian film starring the handsome Jared Leto.
I love this film because it talks about the infinite possibilities it has the reality, thousands of possible live that we have, and the need for all the time to be choosing a path, and we are leaving behind another cent change. It is a fiction film, but talk about real life, about the complexity of the human mind.

My best holiday so far this summer were, to San Pedro de Atacama, northern Argentina and Bolivia, for a month. I went with my best friend from college, his girlfriend and a friend. Fron the first moment it was all very entertainin, the desert is magical, the atmosphere is quiet. In addition altiplano music is great and to camp and eat pasta every day is a great panorama. The most difficult moment of the trip was crossing hitchhiked to Argentina, even my friend had to sleep on the frontier and we were lucky to take us to very generous couple to Purmamarca, nevertheless it was a very enriching experience and had equually good, even though we arrived tired and sunburned. Northern Argentina is really beautiful and the people who live there are lovely, we met towns such as Purmamarca, Humahuaza, Iruya, San Isidro and Quiaca, wich is the border city where we crossed into Bolivia, from there we went by busto sucre wich is a very beautiful city, bus the bus trip was frightening, the roads are very bad and even worse buses. We toured varios cities to get to my favorite place, Villa Tunari, this village is in the midst of the jungle and the scenery is really beautiful We toured various cities to get to my favorite place, Villa Tunari, this village is in the midst of the jungle and the scenery is really beautiful, addition there are many beatiful animald and many primates!!! and bananas are very cheap jajaja We arrive at the Isla del Sol and then we came back many hours in bus to Calama. Hello everyone, today I will write about one of the countries that would like to visit, it is a very difficult decision, choosing one country of all that exist is a challenge. As a short-term fate will choose Brazil, I think it is a very fun and varied country, so I'd go with a group of friends to go as many possible cities for a couple of months. Beig so a large territory catch my attention the diversity of climates, people and landscapes, and proncipally the flora and fauna, I dream of being surrounded by monkeys in the jungle, love the monkeys! Also its beaches and tropical weather are a very good outlook for rest and fun, people should be very happy and the whole aatmosphere should be great! bye, see you soon!

Hi! well, today I will talk about me, first my name is Marcela Vásquez, have tweenty one years old. And i am from Angol, a town from nineth region, but the year 2013 i came to study visual arts in Santiago, and this is my last year as student, this year have courses the ceramics and textiles, wich i liked very much. I love this city and i have independence. In my free time i like to read novels, sell cloth in the flea markets,and sell homemade food in the university, go out with mi friends and specially ride mi bike. I miss my pets that is the worst, but i see them once a month.
